About the Works Progress Administration (WPA) Prints
Circa 1935-1943
Between 1935 and 1943 the WPA’s Federal Art Project (renamed the "Works Projects Administration" in 1939) printed over two million posters in 35,000 different designs to stir the public’s imagination for education, theater, health, safety, and travel.  Due to their fragile nature only two thousand original posters have survived. 

These hand-pulled silkscreen prints are a representation of the original artwork and coloration.  They are printed on 80 lb. poster stock and are available un-framed, or framed with one of our beautiful Lodge style frames.

These are superior reproductions of the originals with known colors re-created in the Grand Teton, Grand Canyon, Mt. Rainier, Carlsbad Caverns, Double Arch and Bandelier National Monument works.  The original colors for the Petrified Forest have recently been recovered, and this print is now being offered in revised color. Information about the original colors for the remaining pieces has been lost over time, and they have been recreated as closely as possible. Note that the prints of Devils Tower and Bryce Canyon are actually modern productions commissioned by the National Park Service and created within the last 5 years in the style of the original WPA posters.
